I bake macarons using the French method. Macarons are a meringue based cookie made with almond flour, which makes them a lovely GLUTEN FREE dessert. These cookies are created by whipping the meringue, folding the batter, baking the shells and finally, filling them to create beautiful sandwich cookies. It's a whole process! A batch of macarons can take up to 3 hours, not including the 24 hours needed for the cookie to mature. But I promise the time and energy are worth it when you taste the distinct flavor and texture of this delicate, hand made treat.
If your macarons make it past the first day, follow this guide for storing.
Enjoy with care as the macaron shells are delicate. But they'll still taste good even if they break.
In an airtight container, store macarons in the fridge for up to one week or in the freezer for up to one month.
Remove from fridge 10 - 15 minutes before enjoying.
